I consider myself lucky to have grown up in the Royal town of Windsor where, surrounded by beautiful places and, always encouraged by my family, I was always drawing or making. After leaving school I studied 3 Dimensional Design for 4 years at the Berkshire College of Art and Design before starting a career in interior design. Subsequently I moved to the Fens where I grew to love the big open skies and wide flat landscapes and jointly ran a successful interior design business for many years.
It was whilst I was at art college that I was introduced to ceramics under the tuition of Geoffrey Eastop and Mark Donaldson and I have always wanted to do more and now find myself in a position to do just that. Presently I am concentrating on handbuilding and tile making mainly using earthenware clay.
I am in the process of creating a website of my work and will post a link here when it is completed but in the meantime my work can be found on instagram under the name ‘debbieonthebrink’
