Richard Cranwell - RAC Originals
I started pottery when I retired in 2013 because I wanted to do something for myself that is challenging and is also enjoyable, creative and productive. It has turned out to be all of those things and much, much more. I work with stoneware clays and make both thrown and some hand-built forms that are modified in some way by faceting or incising before using coloured slips and underglazes to decorate. I make some of my own glazes and slips. I like to think that most of my work has a practical function although, more recently, a number of much more decorative forms are creeping in to my range of objects.
