Marsh - Adam Marsh
My work draws inspiration from traditional, classic shapes recreated in a contemporary style. Each piece is individually hand thrown and focuses on its simplicity in form, colour and style. My ceramics are unique emphasising clarity of lines created with the wheel and the clay, highlighted by sympathetic glazes and lustres. My main medium is porcelain due to the delicate forms you can create with this material; experimentation with stoneware clays is used to expand and stretch my collection. Pieces range from £5 to £695 in price and from 5cm to 50cm in size.
I studied at the University of Wolverhampton (2004-2007) gaining a BA (Hons) in Ceramics, followed by an apprenticeship under Edmund de Waal who greatly inspired and influenced my work. I have taught art and ceramics throughout the South East and undertaken Technician and Art in Residency positions to expand the range and influence of my work.
