Sarah Went - Sarah Went Ceramics
I am a slipware potter, using the traditional techniques of slip-trailing and painting to add decoration to my work. I use porcelain clay because of its translucent quality, which is perfect for the soft, subtle colours that I use. When creating a glaze, I aim for natural but subtle colour.
Pieces are handthrown on the potters wheel and fired in an electric kiln to 1240*C.
I work from my garden studio in Cambridge, and teach Ceramics in Adult Education at Hills Road 6thForm College.
