Seaman - Ceramics
My work makes use of differing materials and techniques depending on what effects I want to achieve. It is always very experimental, and often a surprise when something actually works! I am currently using earthenware with coloured slips, as well as colour pigments applied by airbrush. These create a background for prints that usually originate from my own photography, and are altered in photoshop. I like to use a lead glaze for its high gloss and its ability to bring out the colours. I fire in an electric kiln to 1100 degrees C. I have also begun to experiment with the same techniques on stoneware clay.
